Museum of Discovery
DJ found out that there is a Museum of Discovery in Little Rock. As a kid I loved the one in Hot Springs. For those of you who are out of town and don't know what this is let me explain. It is a very cool museum with lots of hands on things for kids. Everything is educational and science based. It is very cool and it shows kids how science works and that science can be fun. There used to be only one in Hot Springs but apparently there is one downtown now. So DJ and I decided to take Makenna there on Sunday because DJ found out that admission is free the second Sunday of every month. For the most part we were disappointed. We didn't think it was that great. But there were a lot of fun things for older kids to do. There were only two play areas for little kids. However one of them was pretty cool. Makenna had a great time! She played and played and played. She wore herself out. We had a great time watching her play. I didn't take very many pictures but I did take some video. This is her playing with blocks with her dad. She had a great time. I hope you can hear her squeal. It was really loud in there. He would stack the blocks up and she would knock them down and squeal. It was so cute!!

Thanks for visiting the Museum of Discovery and sharing your experiences! Your pictures and video are fantastic and Makenna is adorable—looks like both she and Dad immensely enjoyed our “Room to Grow” area especially designed for ages 6 and under. I hope that you were able to see our new exhibit “Science&Art” and “Space Adventures” both of which have areas that are appropriate for your daughter. Also, we have a new exhibit “Backyard Science” opening this Saturday—it has two stations in particular that I think would be perfect for Makenna. I’m also excited about our master plan to renovate the entire museum with new exhibits and activities—the Museum is over 80 years old and many of the exhibits are overdue for facelifts and replacement! As the museum is a nonprofit supported by donations, we’re in fundraising mode; as soon as we raise the money, we can make those changes! We hope you’ll visit again soon and thanks for your feedback!
